Moloney Design & Horticulture

Sheila Moloney has been gardening in the Hudson Valley for nearly eighteen years and has certificates in Garden Design, Horticulture, and Native Plants from the Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, New York. In addition, she has studied Art History, Natural History, and Biology at Bard College and Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Stadel Schule in Frankfurt, Germany.

Sheila's background in art, science, and history allows her to bring a rich foundation of knowledge to her extensive practical experience and her training in ecological, sustainable garden and landscape design and organic gardening. She also keeps up with new research and innovations in the field of ecological landscaping and sustainable design at a number of professional conferences and special workshops.

Her assistant, Jason Halstead, is a landscape gardener with a background in stonework and construction. He is also a musician and artist and brings an artistic sensibility to his work. Also on the crew are Keith Marin, a landscaper with experience working on local farms and in construction, and several part time and seasonal gardeners and landscapers.

Some keep the Sabbath going to Church,
I keep it staying at Home -
With a bobolink for a Chorister,
And an Orchard, for a Dome.
